On May 12, 2016, SPIC completed the transaction to acquire the Australian Taralga Wind Farm, obtaining all equity and control rights of the project. This was another significant overseas acquisition of SPIC after it acquired the Australia-based Pacific Hydro in January this year. SPIC has since become the second largest wind power supplier in Australia with a total installed wind power capacity of 413.8 MW.
Located in Taralga Township, New South Wales, Australia, the 106.8 MW wind farm is expected to be put into operation in June with a signed ten-year power purchase agreement. The project will join the portfolio of Pacific Hydro, SPIC¡¯s business platform in Australia, to enhance the overall asset value in the country through synergistic effects.
