On July 3, ICONE-25 General Session was held in Shanghai International Convention Center (SHICC). Wang Binghua, the Chairman of SPIC and the Chairman of SNPTC attended the conference.

Wang Binghua delivered a special report titled The Development of Advanced Passive Nuclear Power Technology in China at the conference. He said that, the 10-year Self-reliant Program of 3rd Generation Nuclear Power is an important component of nuclear power industry in China, and a significant chain in the global nuclear power development. SNPTC has continuously deepened the cooperation with Chinese and foreign partners, overcome various difficulties and challenges, and made the passive 3rd Generation Nuclear Power technology come true: the hot tests of Units 1 of Sanmen and Haiyang Nuclear Power Plants, the AP1000 self-reliant program of 3rd Generation Nuclear Power technology, have accomplished; the independently researched and developed more powerful CAP1400 demonstration project has been ready for construction; the 3rd generation nuclear power independent supply chain of China has formed.
Wang Binghua emphasized that, SNPTC regards “lead nuclear power development and provide green energy” as corporate mission, insists on philosophy of “innovation, sharing, cooperation and win-win”, and is devoted to creating value for clients with advanced technology, matured project construction and management abilities, stable and high-efficient supply system, experience on localization as well as investment and financing capacities, so as to make greater contributions to the safe development of global nuclear power with advanced passive nuclear power technology.

ICONE is the most influential conference in the area of international nuclear engineering, which has long been known as the “Olympics” in nuclear engineering. This conference was co-sponsored by Chinese Nuclear Society, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, undertaken by SNPTC Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute (SNERDI). Over 1,000 people from all over the world attended the conference.

During the conference, SNERDI and SNPTC State Nuclear Power Automation System Engineering Company demonstrated relevant technical competence and performances, attracting widespread attention from attending parties.
