< BackOn April 5, Mr. Qian Zhimin, Chairman of SPIC, met with Mr. Luc Rémont, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of EDF in SPIC headquarters. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on the achievements of cooperation and the challenges and opportunities facing energy transition. Mr. Fabrice Fourcade, Vice-President of EDF and Chairman of EDF China, and Mr. Chen Haibin, Member of the Executive Committee of the Board and Vice President of SPIC, attended the meeting.
Mr. Rémont said that EDF focuses on nuclear power, new energy and green hydrogen energy, constantly innovates energy solutions, and promotes digitalization and intellectualization of energy services and electrification of end users. Given that China is one of the most promising clean energy markets in the world, EDF has always attached great importance to the Chinese market. EDF is willing to carry out practical cooperation with SPIC in concentrated clean energy, hydrogen energy, carbon asset management and other fields, and jointly explore third-party markets globally, so as to deepen and consolidate bilateral strategic cooperation.
Mr. Qian said that SPIC has vigorously developed clean energy base, consumer-side integrated smart energy, green power to X and other industries, and attached great importance to technological innovation and cross-border cooperation, with the commitment to promoting the whole society to achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. EDF is a world leader in the energy and power industry with significant international influence. SPIC is willing to carry out extensive cooperation with EDF in China, Europe and third-party markets, showing the world the wisdom and determination of the two large clean energy enterprises to promote energy transition and address climate change.
