Qian Zhimin, Chairman of the Board of State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC) met with Abdoulaye Magassouba, Minister of Mines and Geology, Republic of Guinea, at SPIC headquarters in Beijing on March 30.

In meeting with Abdoulaye Magassouba, Qian Zhimin firstly expressed warm welcome to the visiting Guinean minister. Qian said, for a long time SPIC’s project in Guinea received strong support from the Guinean Government and local people. After full preparations, the development of the project has entered into a critical stage. In 2017, the governments of China and Guinea signed a cooperation agreement on resources and loans. SPIC’s project has been placed under the bilateral cooperation framework. SPIC is confident of the prospect of the project and will do its part as the agreement and work together with relevant parties to promote the implementation of the project, Qian said.

During the talks, Minister Magassouba pointed out that the Guinean Government has been fully supporting SPIC’s project in Guinea. He said that bringing the project into the resources and loans cooperation framework between Guinea and China was the common will of the two countries and fully embodied that the Guinea Government attached great importance to the projects. The project has been ready for implementation after full discussion and assessment by expert teams from both sides. The two sides should be confident of the project and make concerted effort to implement it as early as possible. The Guinean Government will spare no effort to promote the implementation of all projects under the framework agreement and further expand the cooperation with China, Magassouba said.
