SPIC released the 2016 Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report

On July 6, SPIC released the 2016 Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Report in Beijing, which is the first social responsibility report of a full year since the reorganization of SPIC in 2015.

The Report comprehensively introduced the social responsibility fulfillment in the last year from nuclear power innovation, transnational operation, safety and environmental protection, people first and harmonious corporate philosophy. Meanwhile, SPIC also released sustainable development reports on nuclear power and PV, and the “13th Five-year” social responsibility work plan, which laid out a blueprint for the next step of work implementation.

 

Wang Binghua, the President of SPIC, pointed out that, in 2016, SPIC actively responded to the complex economic situation and industry environment fluctuations, and boasted excellent business performance against the downward industrial trend. It continuously brought reform and innovation elements to SPIC and boosted the successful implementation of two major national S&T projects; paid more attention to clean, low-carbon and safety development, continuously optimized electricity supply structure, and kept a good safety production record. Moreover, SPIC actively participated in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, precisely and orderly promoted its operations overseas.

In the future, Wang Binghua expressed that, SPIC would continue to commit itself in social responsibility management, listen carefully to the opinions and calls of various fields, perform it duties better, and make contributions to realizing the overall well-off society.

 

Meng Zhenping, the General Manager of SPIC, explained the main contents of the Report and interpreted the performance of SPIC’s social responsibility from clean development, innovation and creation. He presented that, only the enterprises that actively undertake social responsibility are the most competitive. Enterprise development is in line with the undertaking of social responsibility.

Besides the social responsibility is the important embodiment of corporate sustainable development, as well as a significant component of operation and management mode and core competitiveness.

 

The four representatives of benefited parties from Chipwi Nge HPP of Myanmar, Yanchuan County of Shaanxi Province, Meigu County of Sichuan Province, and Guinan County of Qinghai Province made speeches in the meeting. They expressed their gratitude to SPIC for its long-term assistance and support on individuals and their hometowns, and honors to SPIC for its performance in corporate social responsibility and assistance in poverty alleviation of poor areas.
