With the joining of the last track panels, the track laying works of the 292 km Jinzhou–Chifeng Railway was completed on June 29, 2016 after seven years of arduous construction.

The Jinzhou–Chifeng Railway will join the existing Chifeng–Daban–Baiyinhua Railway to form an energy transport corridor linking eastern Inner Mongolia and western Liaoning, enabling SPIC to realize the regional joint operation of coal, power, railway and port.
