On April 30, 2014, CPI and the government of Tibet Autonomous Region signed the Agreement to Deepen Strategic Cooperation on Energy in Lhasa City, which marked substantial progress in the energy cooperation between the parties.
CPI expressed the willingness to fulfill the political, social and economic responsibilities as a central state-owned enterprise (SOE). In line with the energy development program and local economic development, CPI will be fully dedicated to the leapfrog development and long-term peace and order in Tibet.
The government of Tibet Autonomous Region welcomed CPI and expressed the gratitude for CPI¡¯s open mode to reinforce the cooperation. Tibet is abundant in resources of hydro power, solar power and geo-thermal power, which ranked in the first position in China, and the Tibetan government would like to continue working with CPI through extended, innovative and practical cooperation on Tibet¡¯s energy development.
