Hongyanhe NPP Unit 6 Dome Lifting Completed Successfully
Source:Writer:Date:18/09/2017

At 6:15 a.m. on September 8th, Unit 6 of Liaoning Hongyanhe NPP, China's northeastern region's largest energy project, completed the dome lifting, which marks the Hongyanhe Phase II project fully entering the equipment installation peak stage. At this point, the last unit of Hongyanhe NPP completed its own "coronation ceremony".

Unit 6 reactor dome and internal pipeline weigh 139.225 tons, and, together with the hook, rigging, modified ladder, weigh 160.375 tons in total. This lifting drew upon the Unit 5 dome lifting experience, and scientific calculations were conducted for the crane, the dome assembly area and the reactor building to ensure that the crane does not move or change amplitude during the lifting process. The crane’s work flow was also optimized.

At 6:15, the dome safely seated onto the top of the reactor building, the lifting was a one-time success. It is estimated that the entire dome circumference error is 2 mm, which is a high level of accuracy.

Liaoning Hongyanhe NPP is the first nuclear power station in Northeast China, with a total investment of more than 80 billion yuan, a total of six nuclear power units after completion. The 6 units, after putting into operation, will play a positive and far-reaching role in protecting the electricity demand of the northeast old industrial base, optimizing the structure of Liaoning and the northeast power grid, and promoting the revitalization and the green development of the northeast old industrial base.

Hongyanhe NPP Unit 1 began construction on August 18th, 2007. On September 20th, 2016, four units of Phase I were completed. The two units of Phase II began construction in 2015, and are progressing well. Commencement of construction and dome lifting took place within the same year. Hongyanhe NPP Unit 5 and 6 are progressing towards the final victory in a steady pace.
