On November 22, Chairman and Secretary of Leadership Group Wang Binghua, Mr. Wei Suo, Member of Leadership Group and Deputy General Manager of SPIC, Mrs. Chen Xu, Secretary of Party Committee and Mr. You Zheng, Vice President of Tsinghua University attended a signing ceremony co-hosted by State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) and Tsinghua University in Beijing for strategic cooperation framework agreement.

　　SPIC has been closely co-operating with Tsinghua University for many years in the fields of pressurized water reactor, low-emission and highly-efficient coal-fired power, environmental protection of power plant on technology research and development as well as talents development, and has made great achievements backed by such cooperation. The agreement will lead to a deeper cooperation of the two sides, upgrade level of science and technology of SPIC, promote transformation of scientific and technological achievements, drive innovation, development and technological advance of related industries.

　　At the panel discussion prior to the signing ceremony, Chairman Wang Binghua made a review on the long-term and satisfactory cooperation relation with Tsinghua University, summarized great achievements made in the aspect of research and development as well as talents development, and expressed his gratitude for continuing supports provided by Tsinghua University. Mr. Wang Binghua noted that SPIC will make every effort to propel and deepen its cooperation with Tsinghua University, accelerate realization of cooperative undertakings in heavy-duty gas turbine and other fields, strive for jointly making the greatest contributions to major technological fields which are directly related to our country’s competitiveness.

　　Mrs. Chen Xu highly appreciated the aforesaid long-term cooperation and achievements. She noted that Tsinghua University will be deeply involved in the implementation of innovation-driven strategies, and continue its supports to SPIC on technological innovations in the important sections of energy industry. Cooperating with SPIC will remarkably facilitate Tsinghua University to work on multi-disciplinary scientific and technological innovations. Tsinghua University will cause its related departments and colleges to cooperate with SPIC on science and technology in an all-round, multilevel and high starting point basis.

　　Mr.Wei Suo on behalf of SPIC and Mr. You Zheng on behalf of Tsinghua University signed the Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement of SPIC and Tsinghua University. The Agreement establishes that the two sides will, based on principles of “equality and mutual benefit, complementary advantages, resource sharing, collaborative innovation and common development”, reach deep cooperation in the fields of advanced nuclear energy, heavy-duty gas turbine, new energy, low-emission and highly-efficient power generation, environmental protection of power station, integrated smart energy and talents development.

　　At the signing ceremony, China Power International Development, SPIC Yuanda Environmental Protection, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute also signed related cooperation agreements with Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Environment and Institute of Nuclear and Energy Technology of Tsinghua University.

　　Mr. Hu Jiandong, Deputy Chief Engineer and General Manager of Department of Human Resources, executives from SPIC General Office, Department of Strategy and Planning, Department of Science and Technology, China Power International Development, SPIC Yuanda Environmental Protection, Central Research Institute, Shanghai Nuclear Engineering Research & Design Institute were present at the panel discussion and signing ceremony.
