　　Between November 20 and 22, a delegation led by General Manager Meng Zhenping of State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) visited Chile, met Mr. Frei, the former Chilean President and Special Envoy for Asia-Pacific affairs and Mr. Rebolledo, Minister of Energy, made a trip to Pacific Hydro Chile and unveiled plaque for SPIC Chile office.

　　On November 20, Mr. Meng Zhenping made a trip to Pacific Hydro Chile Chacayes and Kaya Hydropower station, surveyed plant facilities, spillway, control room and other facilities and was given a full picture of operation, management and electricity selling of the power plant. Mr. Meng Zhenping expects Pacific Hydro Chile to improve management, improve capabilities and leverage efficiency of the power plant.

　　Mr. Meng Zhenping met Special Envoy Mr. Frei in Santiago and shares his views with Mr. Frei on China-Chile energy cooperation on November 21. Mr. Frei mentioned that SPIC is welcomed to invest and build hydropower plant and other clean energy projects in Chile, and such projects will be the driving force of Chilean energy supply and economic growth. Mr. Meng Zhenping noted that SPIC has earned rich experience in clean energy and expects Pacific Hydro Chile to play a role of platform on both management of the existing hydropower plant and development of hydro, wind and photovoltaic power as well as other energy projects relying on the local resources, making contributions to sustainable development of energy in Chile.

　　Mr. Meng Zhenping met also Mr. Rebolledo, Minister of Energy on the same day, expressed his gratitude for supports and assistance from Minister of Energy to SPIC Chile company, and introduced development goals and investment plans of SPIC in Chile. Mr. Rebolledo indicated that Ministry of Energy will continue its supports to development of and make supporting policies and services available to SPIC Chile company.

　　During his stay in Chile, Mr. Meng Zhenping also met staff of members of Pacific Hydro Chile, and unveiled plaque for SPIC Chile Office. At the panel discussion with executive team of Pacific Hydro Chile, Mr. Meng Zhenping expressly put forward development goals of SPIC in Chile, encouraged the executive team to not only utilize SPIC internal resources, give full play to their advantages, improve efficiency, expand scale, reduce costs, and strive for achieving considerable development in Chile and Latin America.

　　Prior to his visit to Chile, Mr. Meng Zhenping attended APEC CEO Summit 2016 in Lima, Peru between November 18 and 19.
