SPIC Conducts an Intensive Big Year-end Test on Safety in Production

Unbreakable bedrock drives development while safety in production must be considered as the top priority. State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) will organize an intensive safety inspection involving all its subsidiaries and affiliates between the end of November and the beginning of December. Such safety inspection will be a Big Year-end Test launched by SPIC since it was derived from restructuring, which features the highest level, the largest scale and the most stringent requirements.

  

SPIC will set up a number of teams headed by its executives or personnel at higher level. Such teams will, under leadership of the executives, conduct inspection and supervision on the second-level units responsible for management and operation and the subordinate third-level units in relating to layout of safety management divisions, implementation of safety management system and safety procedures at construction sites.

 

At the theme session and emergency video and call conference on safety in production organized by SPIC Safety Commission recently, SPIC executives declared their determinations to take “safety first” as the top priority for business development and operation, and to guarantee safe production. The intensive inspection comes as approaching of the end of this year, which is designed to urge all subsidiaries and affiliates to learn and comprehend related instructions by General Secretary Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang, directions defined by national video and call conference on safety in production as well as the relevant requirements set forth in notices from competent authorities, to perform their duties well in respect of current safety work, to keep close eyes on implementation of safety accountability system, and to take practicable measures to break bottleneck so as to prevent major accidents.

 

In addition to the inspection required by SPIC Headquarters, all second-level units will organize major inspections aimed at the subordinate third-level units and all construction projects in order to make every effort to match up to expectations, leave no omissions and check every detail. Any unit which is detected with repeated violations, long-time pending hidden troubles, and continuing high risk of accidents will be investigated thoroughly to ascertain where the responsibility lies so as to guarantee a successful safety inspection.
