With the main task of power generation, Laxiwa Hydropower Station plays a major supporting role in the 750KV northwestern power grid and is the key power source in the northern path of “west-to-east electricity transmission”, featuring the largest installed capacity, largest amount of electricity, lowest cost of unit KW and good economy. With a maximum dam height of 250m and the top center arch of 459.64m, the reservoir of Laxiwa Hydropower Station has a normal pool level of 2452m above sea level, total storage of 1079 million m³ and a daily storage regulation capacity of 150 million m³. The Station has a total installed capacity of 4200MW (6×700MW), rated head of 205m, guarantee output of 990MW and average power generation of 10223 GWh per year, featuring good economic performance and the lowest per-KW investment in China.
