In 2008, CPI put into operation a total installed capacity of 6580MW, of which 450MW was hydropower, 5900MW was thermal power and 230MW was wind power, with 8 units above 600MW. A total of 9050MW was ratified in 2008, ranking 1st among the five Gencos, a total of 6900MW began construction, and electricity project under preparation reached 200GW.
