On 27-28 January 2010, CPI held 2010 working meeting in Beijing, for which Vice Premier Li Keqiang, Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang and officials from other ministries gave important instructions.

   

On 12 March 2010, President Lu Qizhou visited Bo Xilai, a member of the politburo of CPC Central Committee and Secretary of CPC Committee of Chongqing municipality, expressing CPI's willingness to take an active part in boosting the economic and social development of Chongqing.

  

On 16 March 2010, the unveiling ceremony of CPI Aluminium International Trading Co., Ltd. was grandly held, indicating that CPI has make a solid step forward in its aluminium business. This will strongly enhance the specialized, market-based and centralized operation of CPI's aluminium business.

  

On 3 June 2010, at the presence of Wen Jiabao, a standing member of the politburo of CPC Central Committee and Premier of China, and Myanmar Premier U Thein Sein, President Lu Qizhou and representative from Myanmar Ministry of Electric Power (1) signed the joint venture agreement for Chipi and Lasa Power stations.

 

On 12 June 2010, the foundation-stone laying ceremony of Jinzhou Port Coal Wharf Project Phase I was grandly held in Jinzhou, Liaoning. Jinzhou Port Coal Wharf Project is of great significance for implementing the national strategy of “Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone” and boosting the integrated economic development of northeastern China and east Inner Mongolia.

 

On 30 August 2010, Sangri 10MW PV Power Station, which is CPI’s first power source project in Tibet, started construction.

 

On 25 September 2010, the unveiling ceremony of CPI Xinjiang Wusu Sikeshu Coal Co., Ltd. was grandly held. The acquisition of the Sikeshu coal mine was of profound significance for CPI’s strategic development in Xinjiang.

 

On 8 October 2010, Hui Liangyu, a member of the politburo of CPC Central Committee and vice premier of China, met with President Lu Qizhou at the kick-off ceremony of the "Greening the Yangtze River Campaign".

 

On 22 October 2010, Zeng Peiyan, former member of the politburo of CPC Central Committee and vice premier, visited CPI Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Project, and fully affirmed the achievements of CPI in nuclear power.

 

On 1 November 2010, the inauguration ceremony of CPI Jiangsu Branch was grandly held in Nanjing, which marked a new stage of CPI’s development in Jiangsu.

 

On 4 November 2010, President Lu Qizhou and Vice President Yu Dehui visited France and attended the cooperation agreement signing ceremony for Chinese and French enterprises, at the presence of President HU Jintao and President of France Nicholas Sarkozy.

 

On 19 November 2010, Wang Gang, a member of the politburo of CPC Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the CPPCC, visited CPI HQ and fully affirmed the achievements of CPI in development and reform.

 

On 26 November 2010, the inauguration ceremony of CPI Material and Equipment Branch was grandly held at CPI HQ. The establishment was of great significance to promote “management-control integration” in CPI.

 

On 30 December 2010, the signing ceremony of Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation between CPI and Hebei Province as well as the inauguration ceremony of CPI Hebei Branch was held in Shijiangzhuang, marking a new stage in the cooperation between the two parties.

 

First unit of Anhui Wuhu Power Plant Phase V 2×660MW Project was put into operation at the end of 2010, signifying that CPI’s total installed capacity exceeded 70GW. Meanwhile, the construction schedule of 17.9 months was also on the advanced level in the industry.
