On January 15-16, CPI held 2009 working meeting in Beijing, for which Vice Premier Li Keqiang, Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang and SERC Chairman Wang Xudong gave important instructions.
On March 11, CPI held a pep conference for carrying out the "study and practice scientific outlook on development" campaign in Beijing, making deployments for the campaign and indicating its full-scale launch.
On March 11, the signing ceremony of Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation between CPI and Yunnan provincial government was held in Beijing, marking the commencement of a new stage in the mutual cooperation.

On December 28, Phase I of Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Project, a self-reliance supporting project for the 3rd generation AP1000 technology, had FCD. Unit 1 is expected to be put into operation in May 2014.
