On February 13, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission approved that “development and transportation of primary energy including power coal” was added to CPI’s core business scope.

On November 28, CPI signed the Framework Agreement on Strategic Cooperation with Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. According to the Agreement, from 2008 to 2015, CPI will input hundreds of billions RMB in Ningxia for developing vertical integration of electricity generation, coal mining and aluminum production.
On December 5, CPI signed Framework Agreement on Nuclear Power Development Cooperation with CNNC (China National Nuclear Corporation) in Beijing. The signing of this Agreement marks that the two mutually complementary big companies forged a strong alliance in nuclear power field, and also demonstrates their commitments to promoting nuclear development of China.
