Owing to their high power generation efficiency, ability of frequent and fast start-ups and shut-downs, and suitability for peaking generation, heavy-duty gas turbines are one of the main choices for optimizing energy structure and achieving large-scale clean-energy substitution. Referred to as the "crown jewel" of the industry due to the manufacturing difficulties of heavy-duty gas turbines, the R&D and manufacturing capability of the equipment represent the top level of a nation's heavy industry and high-end manufacturing industry. So far, SPIC has completed the preliminary design of the 300 MW F-class model, and the trial fabrication of the first-stage vanes and blades of key components.
