China Power International Holding, a subsidiary of SPIC, is the developer of the 2x660 MW High-efficiency Clean Coal-fired Power Project, and the project was put into commercial operation in August 2019.

SPIC Inner Mongolia Energy owns preferred equity in Pakistan's Thar Coalfield Block II Open-pit Mine Project. In April 2016, Phase I, with an annual production capacity of 3.8 million tons, started construction. In April 2019, infrastructure stripping was completed, allowing for large-scale mining.
